Built to be checked, not just believed

SnagSpy is an error monitoring and observability platform. It ingests errors, logs, traces, metrics and session replay over standard OTLP, correlates them, and attributes a failure to the change that caused it. What follows is less about the product than about the rules it is built to — they are the reason it looks the way it does.

The rules

Say what is true, or say nothing

No fabricated figures anywhere: not a confidence percentage, not a sample chart in an empty panel, not an uptime number nobody measured. Where there is no source, the product says so.

Publish the boundaries

Every page here that describes a capability also describes what it does not do. A reader who only learns the strengths fills in the rest by assumption, and gets it wrong in our favour, which is not a favour.

Standards before lock-in

Ingestion is OpenTelemetry, so everything you send here can be sent elsewhere without touching your code. A product that can only be left by re-instrumenting does not have to keep earning the seat.

Never drop telemetry to make a point

Usage is metered against your plan and an overage is announced, once. The write path does not refuse your telemetry for being over a figure — losing your error reports during the incident that caused the spike is the most damaging thing this platform could do to you.

Who operates it

SnagSpy is operated by AFRICAN LEGACY GROUPE SARL, a company registered in Côte d’Ivoire. The registered particulars, the data-protection contact and the full list of sub-processors are published rather than summarised — a trust document that has to be requested is not a trust document.

The product is sold in United States dollars and the interface ships in English and in French. The French is authored rather than machine-translated, which is a decision about who this is for rather than a feature.

Where the data is

Application data is processed and stored in Germany. Static pages are served from a content network at the edge, which is why this page loads quickly a long way from a German data centre and why it stores nothing about you to do it.

There is one region today and no choice of region is offered. Saying so is more useful than a map with pins in it: if your procurement requires data to stay somewhere else, you need to know that on this page rather than in week three of an evaluation.

How it is built

A modular monolith in Go behind a small number of binaries, with the architectural boundaries enforced by a test rather than by convention — a rule nobody can check is a rule that has already been broken.

The dashboard is a single-page application; the pages you are reading are rendered ahead of time and served as files, because a marketing page that changes only when we deploy should not cost you a round trip to a server to read.

The same discipline applies to what gets published: claims about plans, prices and capabilities are held against the code that implements them by tests that fail the build. That is unusual, and the reason for it is simple — published copy drifts away from a product faster than anyone expects, and a claim nobody checks is a claim that quietly stops being true.

Where the product is today

SnagSpy is new, and these pages are written on the assumption that you would rather hear that from us than work it out later. The platform is built, deployed and taking payment, and the free plan is real with no time limit on it. What it does not yet carry is a compliance certificate, a public community, or years of production behind it.
